#2 Lindenwood University-Belleville 6, #4 The Apprentice School
1
Second seeded Lindenwood University-Belleville Lynx advances to
the 2014 USCAA Small College World Series National Championship
Series by defeating The Apprentice School in 6-1.
The Lynx did the gist of their damage in the fourth inning when
center fielder Christian Cavaness ripped a 2-RBI double down the
left field line to score Bret Storm and Connor Allen. Second
basemen Kyle Forsyth would later drive Cavaness in with an RBI
single into left field to end the inning by a score of 5-1. The
Builders were never able to gain any momentum due to the pitching
of Mike Wuelling who had a tremendous outing today as he pitched a
complete game (105) against the Builders, striking out seven
Builders and only giving up two hits. Shortstop Trevin Wilson
drove in the only run for the Builders in the
7th inning.
With the victory, Lindenwood University-Belleville now awaits
their opponent as they move to the USCAA Small College World Series
National Championship on Thursday May 15th at
2:30pm at Lenz Field. The Apprentice School will play the
winner of the #1 University of Cincinnati-Clermont/#8 Victory
University matchup on Thursday May 15th at 11:00am
at Lenz Field.

St. Joseph’s College Brooklyn 6
Victory University has done it again. Today, the Eagles
made their second consecutive comeback, scoring three runs in the
top of the seventh inning to beat St. Joseph’s College
Brooklyn, 8-6.
Despite two three-run home runs by Thomas McKenna of St.
Joseph’s College Brooklyn, Victory was able to string hits
together at the right time for the win. Victory tied the
ballgame at 3 apiece in the top of fifth with a Kent
Voorhie’s RBI single and two RBI triple from Holden Watts.
Victory put up two more in the top of the sixth inning with a
Myles Hollim two RBI home run. McKenna’s second home
run in the bottom of the sixth put the Bears of St. Joseph’s
College up 6-5. But, with the same energy as their extra
inning win over Rochester, the Eagles mounted another last minute
comeback. The Eagles put up three runs in the seventh behind
RBI singles from Dual Evans and Barry Bartle, and a Benito Macha
sacrifice fly which scored Evans.
#8 Victory University will face #1 and defending champion

at 3pm (CST). The winner will move on to play at 11am on
Thursday for a chance to play in the National Championship
