#8 St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn 1 - #9 Briarcliffe College 4

BUTLER, PA - USCAA First-Team All-American Gavin Stewart silenced the St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn bats and led the Briarcliffe Bulldogs to a 4-1 win against the Bears. Stewart went seven innings giving up only three hits, striking out three, and allowing only one unearned run to cross the plate.

With the score tied at 1-1 through five innings, the Bulldogs broke through in the top of the sixth. Ben Wright and Gus Mejia led off the inning with singles, and scored on a double by John Tsiolis. Tsolis would later score on a sacrifice fly by Daniel Farin to give Briarcliffe a 4-1 lead that they wouldn't relinquish. St. Joseph's Thomas McKenna, Vinny Rossi, and Domenick Camerada were the only Bears players to manage hits off of Stewart in the game.

Briarcliffe College advances to play #1 seed The Apprentice School tonight at 9:00 PM. Meanwhile, St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn will play the loser of Selma University vs. Penn State Greater Allegheny tomorrow at 11:00 AM.
