LOCATION: War Memorial Stadium - Hampton, VA

IN BRIEF: The Rochester College Warriors came alive in the bottom of the fifth inning with two runs then added five more runs in the bottom of the sixth to earn a 7-0 victory over the Penn State Beaver Nittany Lions.

HOW THEY SCORED:

  • The Warriors took four innings to get their bats warmed up but a two run bottom of the fifth was enough to get a lead and they never looked back. Tommy Verdur singled to right field with the bases loaded to drive home Scott Kunert. The very next batter Tyler Provow flied out to right field which gave Nick Tomilenko enough time to tag up and make it home for a 2-0 lead.
  • In the bottom of the sixth inning Chaz Hill hit a single to left field and pinch runner Anthony Sark scored on the play along with Eric Mischle. Hill was then able to advance to second on a wild pitch. Nick Tomilenko then hit in Scott Kunert and Chaz Hill on a double to right center field. Tommy Verdur grounded out to the first baseball to allow Tomilenko to score from third to increase their lead to 7-0.

BEHIND THE BOXSCORE:

  • Hill and Tomilenko each had two RBIs. Provow and Verdura each had an RBI of their own in the game. Blake German had two hits in his three trips to the plate. Justin Green pitched six scoreless innings and only gave up three hits while striking out six with no walks. Green earned the win and now has a record of (4-3) on the season.
