IN BRIEF: The ninth-seeded Bears of St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn upset the fourth seeded Rochester College Warriors, 6-4, to advance in the 2015 USCAA Small College World Series. The Bears used a four run fourth inning to create enough separation and hold of a late rally by the Warriors to earn the victory.

HOW THEY SCORED:

  • St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn began the scoring in the very first inning on a Brian Luebcke single to left field to score Thomas McKenna from second base. Also scoring for the Bears was Michael Camerada on a sacrifice fly out by Francis Rapp to right field to take a 2-0 lead.
  • St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn continued their scoring in the top half of the fourth inning on a Domenick Camerada single down the left field line to score Brian Luebcke.  The Bears added to their run total when first basemen, Vinny Rossi, brought in Francis Rapp on a sacrifice bunt to make it 4-0.  Later in the inning with the bases loaded, Michael Camerada singled to left field to drive in two runners, Bobby Perretti and Anthony Inserillo, to take a 6-0 lead over the Warriors
  • Rochester College put two runs on the board in the bottom half of the fourth inning to cut into the deficit.  Warriors' shortstop, Chaz Hill, doubled to left center to drive in Blake German for the first run. After advancing to third on a throwing error, Hill crossed home plate on a Nick Tomilenko single to left field to make it 6-2.
  • The Warriors began to make a late rally in the 6th inning when Chaz Hill got on base with a single up the middle.  Hill would later advance to third base on a wild pitch and was knocked in by a Nick Tomilenko single to left field to make it 6-3
  • In the bottom half of the 7th inning, the Warriors added one more run to the board. Center fielder, Brandon Dupuis, hit a triple to left field to drive in Tyler Provow to cut the Bears lead to 6-4. However, the Bears' pitcher, Connor Pasetti, struck out the next three Warriors batters to end the game
