HOW THEY SCORED:

  • Terance Wroniak stepped up to the plate with the bases loaded in the bottom of the second inning and hit a single to right field. All the runners advanced and Adam Jacko scored to open up the game in favor of Penn State Greater Allegheny.
  • In the bottom of the third, the Lions added to their lead when Joshua Arroyo singled to right center field; Aaron McGee came around to score and made it 2-0.
  • Hunter Brown tripled to open the fifth for Tennessee Temple. Three batters later Ryan Bruce hit a single through the right side gap and brought home Brown to cut the Penn State Greater Allegheny lead in half.
  • The Lions opened the game back up with John Nusser scoring on a throwing error after Jacko hit one up the middle. Jacko came home to score several batters later when McGee flied out to right field making the score 4-1. 

BEHIND THE BOX SCORE:

  • Joshua Arroyo, Fransico Del Rio, Mark Hollis, and Adam Jacko all had two hits for Penn State Greater Allegheny. Matt Klena earned the win after pitching five and a third innings and giving up six hits and one earned run. Klena is now 7-0 on the season. McGee got the save and only gave up one hit in his one and two thirds inning pitched.
  • Tennessee Temple's Micah Wyatt had two hits for the Crusaders in his three trips to the plate. Chase White pitched a full game and allowed two earned runs on ten hits.

Penn State Greater Allegheny will now play Illinois Tech on Friday, May 15 at 2:00 P.M. The winner of that match will move on to the championship game on Saturday, May 16 at 2:30 P.M. Tennessee Temple is still alive in the tournament and will face the loser of the Rochester College and St. Joseph's College Brooklyn game on Friday, May 15th
